Yes I know about the 'dead thing' at the south pole of Bop.

Yes I know it's the deity presumed responsible for all bugs.

Yes I know it's what happens to your Kerbs when you stand on the surface and hit physics warp.

Yes I know it's a sea-monster of ancient folklore.

Yes I know it ate Captain Jack Sparrow.

But there's tons of evidence that the Kraken really exists in real life:

In WW2 the RAF called it 'gremlins', ascribing its effects to little creatures that tinkered with aircraft parts and caused them to fail.

Others know it as Murphy's Law - if it can attack, it will.

Some say the weird region of burmuda triangle is all the work of the Kraken.

In fact just about anything that jeopardises success or safety could be put down to this creature who haunts the Kerbol system.

Reply below with your own tales of brushes with the RL Kraken - they don't need to be first hand experiences if there's something cool you heard of once, or even if you see his works in a news report.

I once ripped off half of my thumbnail "decoupling" the rear wheel of my mountain bike during a routine maintenance procedure. I passed out briefly but survived the landing. I guess that counts.

FYI, be VERY VERY careful with hand-operated quick release wheel clamps.

It was a sensation that does not lend itself to civilised description, but "ouch" doesn't cover it.

When my hard drive bit the dust this summer. I read the SMART data and it showed 122 reallocated sectors and over 300 uncorrectable sectors. I had to swap it out for an older 80gb drive. I was planning on reinstalling Windows 8 then get 10, but after reading about the hidden data mining, I went for Linux Mint instead. Then the Kraken struck again after installing the proprietary graphics drivers, forcing me to reinstall Mint again.
