Got to see a bit of it before clouds showed up and covered up the sun until sunset.

Was pretty awesome though, reminded me of the scene from the movie Sunshine when the crew watches Mercury

Very cloudy here in NZ, but we had a lucky break in the clouds for 1st and 2nd contact. Amazing!

I saw it with my 76mm reflector. It was actually kind of uneventful and boring, but I know I\'ll probably cherish this later.

The good thing is, I saw the transit in 2006. I had taken a pair of those solar eclipse sunglasses to school and was the hero of the day for all the other fourth graders. 8)

I was lucky enough to randomly run across an observatory when i was on a day-trip out, so I got to have a look at it and a bit of a chat with the owner.

We\'ll probably see it again, actually, because there will probably be advances in medical technology by the time we\'re 90 or so.

There wasn\'t a transit of Venus in 2006 iirc. You probably mean 2004?

But I also missed it. Too much rain.
