How to download Kerbal Space Program's 3D files ?

While the models aren't easy to get at directly, there is a mod to export them to blender. (Not sure it works 100% in 1.0.x)

You can then probably take the models from blender and do as you wish. No idea about copyright issues though.

There is a mu exporter and the ksptoblender importer has a lot of manual tweaking and no fairings at all. Still just have a look at ehnsolios (spelling) render thread to se what can be done.

You can also do a lot of easy moviemaking in ksp itself with camera tools and kerbcam
