[Art] A earth-like planet.

Well I got bored and decided to make an earth-like planet... It\'s all done in Paint.net.

I used the 'Shape3D' plugin to make the planet 3D.(English version...)

Of course, this is the planet at the beginning of breaking apart Pangaea. I\'ll make the planet after the break apart later. I might also make the planets solar system to.

I think that you should have added a few more effects to make it seem more planet-like. Glow, cloud rendering, more noise in areas, and for the cloud using color burn instead of overlay, like this -

At least, that\'s what I would do.

I did do cloud rendering... I made it into a .png so it sort of messed up... (I did cloud rendering in a separate layer.)

The cloud rendering should have been on the same layer as the planet to take advantage of the color burn effect, which applies clouds but also helps intensify the differences between night and day.

Sigh. You threw in stars and a sun. My planet is currently way better than yours, but I definitely need to throw in some stars to make it comparable.

I think they both need to be a little bit more crisp and detailed - the Earth isn\'t blurry.

Ydow would win if he took out the stars. No WAY would you be able to see those when looking straight at the light side of Earth.

I made this a couple years ago when I wasn\'t as skilled in GIMP. I didn\'t use any plugins for 3D or anything. Just circles and clever shading.

And I know you can see the stars. This wasn\'t exactly supposed to be ultra-realistic.

They do fade out around the sun though, so maybe I\'m just really close to a bunch of stars?
