There are two Program Files KSP works out of, Program Files and Program Files (x86) When I turn my computer on one day it'll be using one of these files, but the next time I use my computer it'll be working out of the other Program Files. I have a few mods but only in one Program Files and can't find out how to get KSP to only work out of one. Can anyone help me please?

Hi Sweeper, if you used the KSP.zip then KSP shouldn't be placed in Program Files as there won't be a Windows registry entry, the zipped KSP should be unzipped to C:\Games or a similar folder you create that is not part of the Windows folder structure.

If you installed via Steam, the Squad installer or GoG, KSP will be in the steamapps folder, C:\Kerbal Space Program or C:\GOG Games\Kerbal Space Program by default respectively.

Also it does matter where KSP is installed because of data execution prevention it's best to just make a C:\Games folder and install KSP there, copy over your preferred KSP install and delete the old ones once you have it all working.

Welcome to the forums! This is a great place to post when you're trying to figure things out, there are a lot of very helpful folks here. :)

One thing that really helps when you're posting is to give your question a descriptive title-- for example, "How to control where KSP.exxe runs from?" or something similar would work for this one.

"Please Help" isn't super helpful ;) , since that describes essentially every post in this forum.

Note: You can edit your post after you've posted it-- for example, you can fix the title on this thread. Click the "Edit Post" button for your original post that started this thread, then "Go Advanced", and it will take you to a page where you can edit the title of the post (and therefore the thread).
