I would say I learned an important lesson about needing to use more struts, but this was basically what I already expected when I realised it started at 536 tons. I was surprised that the pilot survived.

I used Multiversal Mechatronics Fixed Camera Mod and F1( :D ) to make the screenshots and then I used

Microsoft Image Composite Editor to generate the panorama.

Thanks, I'm starting to make my little collection of mods, I heard of this one before, but never thought of using it this way, on a planetary probe... it's awesome, therefore I'm going to shamelessly "steal" the idea :)

Anyway, back on topic:

«Bob! They worried about you, Bill & Jeb, back at KSC, so they decided I'd come and pick you up... Come on in!»

Simply awesome stuff here!

I must figure out how to use some of these fantastic mods I've seen.

I've only been 'playing' with KSP for a couple of weeks - purchased v0.16 and all I have is stock gear. Have been to Mun and back a few times now, and one successful return mission to Minmas from one attempt - all with my trusty Mun10 rocket and lander.

Some pics from my last mission to Mun, EVA, and return to land within a few kms from launch pad. A great game!!! :D

edit: Thanks Shuttle for the tip on adding pics.

A couple of pictures of my Mun Base Alpha:

The base houses a total of 33 Kerbals.

If I remember correctly the base and it's launch vehicle weighed in excess of 900 tonnes on the launchpad and the lag made my computer weep. The trip (especially getting into orbit) was heavily dependent on the v0.16 fuel bug.

Now if only I could land this...

EDIT: Yay, it flies upon return (well, an improved version)...

Holy s..! Can it fly to the Moon and back? Absolutely epic ship! What kind of AA did you use in-game?

Simply awesome stuff here!

Your pics are not visible to others, you have to upload them to some photo hosting like http://imgur.com/ :)

And one pic from me - 2 functional command pods on one rocket, thanks to Zool with his awesome mod

Third and final part of my 1st rescue mission: The landing! The crew of four made it back safely to Kerbin, landing in the middle of a valley, in one of the planet's highests mountain ranges... at dawn :)

The munar ascent part made me think, though: what's the most fuel-efficient way to make the trip Munar surface -> Kerbin? I'm sure the subject's been discussed somewhere already, but I can't seem to find it...

EDIT: those two command modules definitely look like ASTP!
