Took me almost 4 days to get this thing to fly right. Weighs almost 650 tons at the pad.

No idea how much it weighs after dumping the stages off, but figured i'd share.

Edit: sorry the image is huge. I can't seem to get the spoiler tag to work for me.

Why is there a lone capsule to the left of the image?

Why is there a lone capsule to the left of the image?

That was one of my very first "visits" to the mun lol

Jeb was getting lonely so I decided to just build a community around his stranded capsule.

Left to right: Mun Lander 2, Bobsey Kerman (Mun Super-Veteran), Sherrey Kerman (Mun-Minmus Veteran), and Thomald Kerman (now-Mun Veteran).

Looking to Kerbol in a shot that became quite popular back at the centre. It's now being sold as a souvenir picture on things like cups and postcards by the space centre to help fund the program :P

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/9763/1346437693m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/9763/1346437693m_SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="281" alt=""></a>

Left to right: Bobsey (Mun-Minmus Super-Veteran), Sherrey (Mun-Minmus Super Veteran), Thomald (Mun-Minmus Veteran), and Minmus Lander 2. The very same team working together once more on another mission.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/9763/1346437695m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/9763/1346437695m_SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="281" alt=""></a>

"AGH, TOO BRIGHT! NEXT TIME WE COME HERE, CAN WE HAVE POLARISED VISORS, PLEASE?" Bobsey Kerman at midday on Minmus.

<a href="/image_zoom.php?id=/user_images/9763/1346437696m"><img src="http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/9763/1346437696m_SPLASH.jpg" border="0" width="500" height="281" alt=""></a>

On the return trip from Minmus, a picture was captured including all 3 celestial bodies of the Kerbin sub-system; Kerbin, Mun, and Minmus, along with Minmus Lander 2. This picture is also being sold as a souvenir by the guys at the centre. Money seems to be a bit tight. Might have something to do with Bob Kerman...

The first artificial satellite in orbit of Kerbin. Silently watching, hopefully not silently waiting for something sinister. Kerbals are very touchy about such things. (I used ladders as solar panels in a little bit of creativity).

Right, incase you haven't noticed, Bobsey, Sherrey, and Thomald are my most veteran Kerbals. Two less veteran Kerbals are called Guswig and Gildred:

As of 31st August 2012

Bobsey: 3 successful Mun landings and returns to Kerbin, 1 successful Minmus landing and return to Kerbin. Deployed first satellite. Flown at least 5 spaceplanes. Super Veteran

Sherrey: 2 successful Mun landings and returns to Kerbin, 2 successful Minmus landings and returns to Kerbin. Deployed first satellite. Also has at least 15 spaceplane flights to his name, all atmospheric. Super Veteran

Thomald: 1 successful Mun landing and return to Kerbin, 1 successful Minmus landing and return to Kerbin. Deployed first satellite. Veteran

Guswig: Commander of 2 orbital missions and one unsuccessful Mun landing (rescued). Petty Veteran

Gildred: Flown 2 orbital missions and one unsuccessful Mun landing (rescued). Petty Veteran

Kosmos space station pack

I honestly don't know if it's still available as the thread hosting the DL links was closed because it became ultra-massive. Its dev team is currently refactoring the mod for 0.16.

The Aries Station that I'm attempting to put in orbit module by module. I want to use the Kosmos solar panels for the main solar array, but I can't figure out how to mod the parts. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. I am bringing the pieces up using orbital rendezvous techniques.

The vessel thats getting me there piece by piece. The Tyberius 325. Numbered like the Atlas V program, it's payload faring is 3m diameter with 2 radial liquid boosters and 5 thrusters on the second stage.

And the Aries Station as it sits right now. At least 5 launches to go before it's complete. I'm recording it all as well so hopefully it'll be a decent video...

You wont be able to complete it. Sorry.

EDIT: Are you using the SpaceDock plugin?

What makes you say that I won't complete it? If I finish the full design (its only 80tons right now, I'd like at least 130.) by tonight or tomorrow, I could probably have the rest up in the air by Monday.

I am not using the SpaceDock plugin, in fact, I've never heard of it. But I have heard of Orbital & Planetary Construction, but I'm not using it.

The reason you won't be able to complete it is because you won't be able to keep the parts together. You could use lander legs to hold them together, but as soon as you timewarped the whole space station would be a mess.

Oohhhh. I see where you guys are coming from now. What I've done is manually flown each module up there (see Delta IV-look a like vessel) and then space rendezvoused with the station and decoupled the next module. Then I cheat. Then I add that module to the station (by really going back to the VAB and opening the Aries Station vessel and removing everything that hasn't been transported yet) then change the persistence file. So I'm getting as close to orbital docking as I can without using the extra plugins since I don't assume Squad will be adding docking any time soon (though I'd really love it).

Since the first round of pictures, I've added a couple more modules. Just the main solar arrays and a few other tiddly bits left!

Wow! I was just looking through the persistence file earlier and realized a hack like this would make it possible to fake docking behaviours. Cool to see someone else had pretty much the same idea :) Ideally an external save editor should be able to automate the process by automatically combining the parts lists for each vessel and adjusting the position and rotation values for each part so they match up properly, then you wouldn't need to go back to the original design each time. If only I had the programming skill to make it myself :/
