GalaxyGryphon
i had an idea, launch at a heading of north... but that would require extreme luck/timing without a proper trajectory calculating system before launch, and changing your orbital plane once your already making your way there is fuel consuming... any tips? trbinsc
Uh, find some way to bring more fuel to consume? Changing planes is actually a lot less fuel consuming if you are in a high orbit, especially an elliptical orbit.
Kosmo-not
Do your TMI burn as you usually would do (heading east). Around halfway to the Mun, make a mid-course correction burn to put your future trajectory, as indicated by patched conics, over a pole of the Mun. GalaxyGryphon
so, what your saying is, do everything normal, but halfway to the mun correct my path buy burning 'up'? (as indicated by the map)

(as indicated by the map)The direction in which you do your correctional burn depends on what your Munar trajectory looks like.
Zephram Kerman
Probably 'north', but yeah it depends.
