is the terrain around the KSC different?

One time, before the update, I landed a plane fairly close to KSC (Still on that flat peninsula) Oddly enough, all my scientific readings said it was in the Tundra biome. It counted it as Tundra science in the R&D Building. I would've researched further, but the save file was borked after 1.0.5

last time I was doing any exploring around the KSC was rover testing in 0.25 So they're new to me!

Damn son! What the hell have you been doing since 0.25? Is it actually going into space? I bet you went into space. Nothing else could take me away form KSP. jk.

I've noticed that since 1.0.4 or maybe earlier, there has been more of a drop off at the end of the runway toward the ocean.

I´ve noticed that too. It seems steeper to get into the water. Which makes it even more difficult to get things like subs and depth probes into the ocean...

They may have just tweaked some PQS parameters.

Possibly. I haven't done much surveying of the area around KSC too often. Imma have to do that someday.

I still have a bunch of older installs, so I should do that.

Good plan.

You know, I think they should add more interesting things to the area around KSC. Or in general. There's not much point to having land rovers on Kerbin, since air travel is several times faster and more interesting.

That's a known issue. Color interpolation of the biome map sometimes causes the edges between specific biomes to match a third biome that often isn't supposed to be anywhere near. IIRC there is a spot on the Mün where there are 7 (or was it 9) biomes within walking distance of each other all because of this bug. Since the biome map is just used to look up the biome and not drawn on the screen it should not be interpolated. I have no idea how difficult that is to achieve in Unity though.
