Build my own state. Legalize all drugs that are actually less adictive then Tabaco and alcohol.

Build up an autark economy totally fueled by alternative energy.

25 Trillion is an insane amount of money for one person to control but my god it would be fun.

Here is what I would do:

1) Buy Reaction Engines. (no more than about $800million.)

2) Fund Reaction Engines Skylon spaceplane with the measly $2.3 billion it would take to bring it into reality.

3) Use a fleet of 50 of them to build a large Orbital Space dock and shipyard for on orbit construction of 5 colony ships and manufacture Chlorofluorocarbon Payload ships.

4) Launch as much of the 39 million metric tonnes of said chemicals on an intercept course to Mars, as needed to add 0.3 microbars of the stuff to the Martian atmosphere so as to allow the CO2 in the ground to begin being released and thereby start a chain reaction to melt the polar ice caps. (Total cost of putting that payload into orbit with Skylon's projected $1048/kg is $39,546,000,000,000, so help a guy out)

4) This would take about a decade and in that time the colony ships, each having about 1000 people aboard would be completed and ready to leave for a Mars with a now liveable atmosphere (with a gas mask, oxygen nitrogen mix is still 100s of years away).

5) The colony ships would not only carry people and supplies but enormous volumes of algae (grown on the ship as it was constructed). This algae would be dumped into the newly formed oceans and begin extracting O2 from CO2 in the water.

6) The colonists would then land habitats across the planet and set up 3 settlements.

7) I am now poor and penniless, but I live in a shielded dome city on Mars, so do I really care?

I'd look to myself first:

5 million: Establish a 100 acre farm for barley. I'd hire a few people to grow it, harvest it, and store it. I'd grow hops by the house, establish a clean room to maintain a yeast supply (and possibly hire a person or two to maintain the yeast as well...I want a lot of strains and that takes man hours). Then I'd start an small scale brewery. I imagine like Wychwood Brewery in the UK. Apply for the necessary licenses every year to be able to distribute it to my friends who run bars and restaurants and other people who want it. The goal is to brew beer pretty much daily instead of my current day job.

10 million: Buy a nifty car. I'm thinking an Aston Martin DB9 or something along those lines. Then use the rest to set up an investment account to sustain my lifestyle in complement to the brewery.

5 million to Panora PETS, a pet shelter I work for currently and I'd like to see be able to do all that they need to do. A trust that pays them out a reasonable operating sum.

The rest? I'd split it down the middle.

One half of the bulk: Split it with half going to NASA, and half going to the front runners in commercial space exploration. If my investment got me some kind of stake in the company I wouldn't shy away from it, but all I really want is a ride to the moon if I get the chance. I would want to set them up also in trusts to pay out over the course of a decade or so with the intent of seeing how well the money is utilized.

The last half of the bulk: Set up a grant program to give roughly 2000 $100,000 grants a year to charities or scientific research until the money is gone. It will be competitive and I will judge the entries based upon their merit and their effectiveness with and winnings the prior year.

First thing I would do with that money is stick some of it in a brief case and go to a space agency and say " you get this for funding if you train me up and stick me in that and launch me into space " ....... THEN after that

1 - fund skylark ( think that's what it's called it's a company that's making STTO engines )

2 - buy a plot of land in the English country side as my own personal place

3 - buy second plot of land in the English country side and start building my space agency

4 - set up a company that makes and launches rocket then create a sister company that deals with everything sciency but the company will have a tourism side and commercial side but make it affordable for the average person " why go to Spain when you can go to space " and make the commercial side affordable so companies are not almost in liquidation after sending stuff up.

And then go from there.
