If you had the non-Steam .zips of the game, it would be as simple as unzipping them... :D

I currently still have 3 separate working installs of 0.90, and two of 0.25 on my computer...

Just one reason why I dont Steam...

Steam really has nothing to do with it.  I never play out of my steam directory.  I keep that clean for updates.  As soon as a new version comes out i just copy the game to my KSP play folder, which has multiple versions.

Only 3? I've got 22 versions ranging from 0.17 to 1.0.5 :sticktongue:

Actually, that is JUST my 0.90/0.25 installs.... I have 18 total from 0.25 to 1.0.5, both Windows & Linux... :)

I have the installer packages for 0.13.3 & 0.22, and 0.25-1.0.5...Plus THOUSANDS of copies of mods to go with them...
I'm KICKING myself in the butt for at one point, thinking I didnt need all the 0.18 to 0.24.2 versions, so I deleted them... ;.;

You STILL got me beat tho on active installs for sure... lol

I've a big folder of old KSP versions from when I first started playing in 0.18.2, all the way up to where we are now (I copy the KSP_win.zip file to this folder every update). I have no idea how or why this would come in useful, as I nearly always stick with the most recent version of the game, but it's neat to look at.

As to OP, unfortunately unless you've saved older versions like the above, you're out of luck, though I do echo @FCISuperGuy in wondering why you want to go back to older versions, as the most recent KSP versions are much more stable, and (slightly) more optimized. If you're getting RAM crashes or don't like the number of parts stock KSP now has, you can always delete any you don't use.

I think one reason, possibly THE reason, why people like to play older versions, is because of mods...

As an example, B9 hasnt been updated since 1.0 changed things up enough, that B9 needs unofficial "fixes" & patches, with little documentation, to get it working in post-1.0...

I site this example, since I mainly like KSP for space-borne gameplay... Where as my 9yr old son likes the ground vehicle and aircraft aspect... So I keep 0.25 & 0.90 mainly for him, with certain parts stripped out, and the many large part mods all ground or aero based... So it also depends on those excellent mods that affect gameplay SOOO much, but dont get updated or die off, you can still play them in older KSP versions...

I also sometimes like to play games centered around watercraft, or Kerbin ground operations, or interplanetry exploration... With the current limitation of Unity 4, large parts packs centered around each type of gameplay, do not allow for being installed along side large parts packs for a different style..Especially when 90% of the pack doesnt cross-over well... Hence, separate installs based around different gameplay and mods...

Plus, I have them running stable, and know just what they are/are not capable of... Since over time, things have been ironed out, fixed, worked around, or at least bugs known so you can avoid them, or quickly deal with them... In newer versions, we dont always have that time-tested experience, which can make it more frustrating than running an older, slightly buggy game that you can prepare for before the Kraken rears up...

The reason I want to revert is because of that control surface bug, I've forgotten the name.

Oh, and because swept wings are different to what they used to be, and this ruined my favorite plane design.

Also, the parachutes became utter crap, and so I really could not return to Kerbin.

I dont get what you mean about parachutes? Ive had no problems with them at all in 1.0.5 either on Kerbin or Duna.

Can anyone show me where I can download the old physics model?

You can change back to the old physics to some degree in the current version using the Alt-F12 debug menu. Under Physics>Aero choose "Use Spherical Model" and under Physics>Thermal pick "Ignore Maximum Temperatures".
