Won't Open!

So I downloaded Kerbal Space Program about 3 days ago, and now whenever I try to open the launcher it keeps saying "Checking for Updates" and when I try opening the game directly it has a loading bar but does not actually move (I left it open for over a day and it didn't move). I tried all the usual things like quiting the program and opening it again, turning off my computer and turning it back on, I even re-downloaded it, but nothing seems to work. I haven't even been able to play the game yet and would like to soon. If you have any idea what happened or how to fix it please let me know. Thanks!

P.S. I downloaded it from the website, not STEAM, and I have a Mac.

This isn't really something I know much about since I assume you're under Windows.
 But since it's been 4 hours since you posted this, how about:

1) Did you download the full game or the installer? I'd go for the full zip (first file in the store) if I were you.

2) Try running the KSP.exe rather than the Launcher.exe. I've never touched the Launcher myself.

3) Do the usual 'create shortcut on desktop, right click properties, set 'run as admin'' or whatever the thing you often have to do under Windows to make things work.

4) If all else fails, you should at least post again to say whether it is Windows / Linux / Mac.

Most important part of this advice is: Don't use the launcher!
The launcher has been bugged for a long time, often the game simply won't start or updates won't complete. Run KSP.exe instead as suggested.

@Explorer1, open Files, there will be a Player.log in Library/Logs/Unity/ and we need that log to help you with KSP.

Please upload the log to any file share site such as or dropbox.com
