I was reading an excellent explanation of asparagus staging by Vanamonde and toward the end he mentioned a mod I'd not heard of before called SmartStage. Not only is the article http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/59834-asparagus-staging-an-explanation/ a great help but I downloaded SmartStage and already love it. I find setting the staging extremely tedious and it drives me nuts how it can change from the way I've set it inside VAB to something else on the launching pad.
