Game is starting v0.23.5.464 version

That's my last hope.

I recently downloaded KSP via steam for mac OS X. I am now sitting here already the whole day to fix that problem:

KSP simply doesn't want to start itself in the current version, instead every time it starts the v0.23.5.565  version of KSP which is pretty much unplayable in the career mode. 

I just purchased it today and am completely helpless right now and can't solve this issue. 

If there are any suggestions out there, pls contact me. 

We discussed in a steam forum already about it and updated steam and reinstalled the game already. Still doesn't work.

With KSP in your Steam account it shouldn't be downloading any versions other than the last stable version which is 1.0.4.0861 or the current release which is 1.0.5.1028.

0.23.5 is an old version, possibly you added your old copy from the Squad store to Steam as an external game, you need to remove it.
