How do you feel about using parts-clipping?

Do you feel uncomfortable using parts clipping to build more compact ships?

    • Not at all, it's fair to use since it's in the stock game

    • Sometimes, but I do still use it because it's so convenient.

    • Yes, it feels too weird/wrong, so I never use it.

Every time I'm building an SSTO and it comes to the landing legs I'm always tempted to do this.  But I always tend to avoid it because it feels sort of... wrong.   It's part of the stock game, it's not an add-on or a mod that I'm using to change the game.  So it's technically fair.  I see it a bit like using time-acceleration to freeze a rotating ship.  It's a feature in the game, but... at the same time it feels like abusing things to make the game easier.

EDIT:
Sorry if people are sick to death of this question coming up, but I wasn't able to find an actual polled question regarding this, and I wanted to see how it was broken-down among the community.

I did do a search, but none of the ones I could find had polls.  Which is a nice way of gauging overall opinions.

Why do you need a poll of whether people clip parts?  So you can determine whether you're "cheating"?

Maybe just trust your own opinion and play the game the way you want to.

I merely want to get a feel for where the community stands on this issue.

98% won't care either way, 1% will say it's the only way to play, and 1% will say you deserve to be drawn and quartered for doing it.*

* actual figures may vary

I will do an honest reply so you feel better about asking.  I use it when it makes sense.  I will not do it when I have things like engines, fuel containers, or something with what would have a bunch of electronics (like a command pod) because then you are cutting off some of the abilities of that craft due to lack of space.  I will use it with things like landing legs and structure parts because then you are just manipulating the superstructure of the craft without effecting the volume of the consumables or something like that.

I think it's a bit late for that.   I could just ask a mod to remove the thread. I didn't realize the community was.... aggressively indifferent to the question.

It's not too late to save it yourself. Use the force, Lemay!

I myself have enjoyed some nice designs using part clipping. If nothing else it can certainly improve a ships aesthetics, and allows for some otherwise impossible designs. Sometimes you just need an attachment point in a certain place, you know?
