MechJeb in Sandbox Mode

Is it possible to get MechJeb functionality while playing in Sandbox mode? I have installed the mod into the Game data folder that opens all MechJeb parts.  But when I start my Sandbox game, the MJ icon doesnt appear and I have no MechJeb functionality.  On a side note two other mods (Science Alert and Simple Orbit Calculator) are showing currently.

Do you have the MechJeb side button?  You also need to download the MechJeb2 mod itself, not just the one that adds it to all pods.

And you need ModuleManager for the patch to work.

Did you attach the AR202 unit (can be found in the 'control' tab) or the MechJeb pod to your craft? I forgot to do that first time I installed MJ and didn't have the MechJeb buttons either.

Thank You all for your advice.  I was able to get the MJ button to appear and I have full functionality of the MOD.  Now on to learning how to use the tools, especially the first one Ascent Guidance!!

MechJeb is full of useful modules have you visited the wiki and watched the youtube videos to give you a basic out line of what each can do and what you need help with

Follow this and have a play around its the essence of KSP build it, blow it up, crash it start again
