Removing Skybox and orbits lines

I don't know where to post this topic.

I want to do a dual screen wallpaper such as this one : http://i.imgur.com/AhHmbbe.jpg

I want to take screenshots of every planetary bodies (including moons). I think the easier way to do that is in Tracking station, as it's very easy to zoom, but I need :

• to remove or hide skybox
• to remove or hide planets orbit lines

Do you know how to do it ?

Further more, I don't want every planets to be the same size, but not either the real size (the small ones would bee too invisible). I think I use a cubic root or a double square root on their size. I'll post some calculations and results later

I don't think you can remove orbit lines. You can change the skybox with texturemanager though, so if you put a black or green texture as skybox you can use transparency in your image editor to remove it.

Using the pull down menu top centre of the map screen you can hide all but planetary orbit lines. But those should disappear once you zoom in close enough.
Instead of removing the skybox what about changing it to an all black texture with TextureReplacer?

So F2 doesnt work to clear off the GUI in Tracking Station, like it does in flight screen?

True, but Planetary orbits stays, especially moons. Planets orbits auto fades when you zoom in. But moons' don't.

You'd probably need a mod to suppress the orbit lines, probably using some reflection tricks to get around scoping (if I remember the Orbit and OrbitRenderer classes well enough), and I'm not entirely sure if that's possible.

Shouldn't be too hard to write a PovRay script that uses the texture to render the planet? Has the advantage that you get them automatically at the same size. Then combine with Photoshop, or if you want to go freeware all the way, use Gimp or ImageMagick?

Well, a way to get rid of the skybox is to install this mod (I don't remember the name, but it's something that makes you be able to see planets even when you are far away), and this also includes a brightness feature, so that when the sun is in your screen, the skybox completely fades away to simulate you being unable to see the stars due to the sun's brightness.

Don't use the tracking station to take your planet pictures. Use the map screen instead. Just double click the body of your choice to put it into focus. Easier, quicker and a much better result.
