I\'m thinking of buying the current version of the game but I\'m a bit confused =P. Is this game beta and if not when is going to be or be officially released?

Still I have the demo and have a lot of fun trying and failing.

Cheers :D

Hey bud!

The current status of the game is considered \'Alpha\' which means it is just slightly before beta. This is considered an \'Open Alpha\' where the game is always evolving and features may come and go at any time, and it also may be plauged with bugs. It is so early in Development I do not think there is any set time of when the game will be fully released but right now they are allowing it for Pre-Order, which allows you access to the Builds when they are finalized and released.

Basically at this time you are playing a game and helping finish it. So if you purchase it, why not stick around and give up some words of advice/report bugs?

Could have been plagued with bugs, but isn\'t. KSP\'s alpha has fewer glitches than Game of the Year Bethesda products and Gold Box Total War editions. (I still have nightmares about Rome: Total War 1.0. The horror! The horror!)

Indeed - KSP has been very good for an alpha-stage game.

However, as a general rule, alpha-stage games are prone to being very buggy.

Be warned, that at this stage the developers of KSP can\'t do anything to ensure backward compatibility with old saves. So there is a very good chance your old ships and savegames will become unusable when a new release comes out. My answer to this is to keep several copies of KSP, each with a few favourite ships that won\'t survive in the dazzling radiance of later, brighter worlds.
