 I used the rotate trick for a long time before I knew of the no limits mod. It works ok but is still FAR too restrictive.

Yup, I got so used to doing it that way, now I'm stuck to my weird ways. But as I said, I'm probably wrong to be stuck there!

Yeah, but if I understand how things work correctly, you have to move the mouse while clicking... nah, who am I kidding, it's probably the fact that the translation trick is the one I came up with independently first, while you discovered the other one first IIRC (along with a gazillion other people us both, I'm sure). So now it obviously feels more "natural", 'cause my brain is wired to learn it easier I guess.

I can understand that. The rotate offset trick is just so time consuming the no limits mod was just so fluid and easy to use, and is unlimited!

Yup, been using it since forever. I was actually surprised that it wasn't something everybody came up with, to zoom in order to place parts with more precision...

Well I often zoom to place parts more precisely, that goes without saying. Zooming in on the X,Y,Z translate tool, I will have to try it, not sure if I have before. Thinking about it I must have done at some point. 90% of my 2000+ hours have been just building so I imagine so. Will report back!
