It is not exactly a question, but it seems I've found a (pretty unnerving) bug in the user interface. Or a defect, if you want to put it like that. The matter is that when you try to save your game (the "Save Game..." window in the Space Center menu) and instead of clicking "Save" just habitually press "Enter" on your keyboard, the game does NOT save, it just closes the menu (possibly making you think that the game is saved, which is the worst part of it). Hopefully posting it here will make some use.

(My game is auto updated through Steam to the latest version, of course, and isn't modded in any manner. The system is 64-bit Windows 7.)

Can you describe how you got to that Save button? A couple of screenshots of the menu might help too. :)

KSP uses something called a quick save process. This does save the game in a way, but may not save game progress etc. It simply saves a moment in time for you to go back to using the quick save loading system (either through the load menu or pressing F9)

Welcome to the forums BTW and good luck with your bug/problem. :)

Sure, from the KSC screen, through the menu (either pressing Esc or clicking the red button in the bottom right corner), then selecting "Save game..." (see screenshot #1).

Well, to me it always worked in a pretty conventional way (except you cannot go to the KSC under some circumstances without being set back, and hence you are unable to save some precise moments - mostly those ones when your ship is under acceleration of any kind).
The thing is that when you click "Save", the game writes "Qucksaving..." in the right part of the screen, and actually saves the game; however, if you press "Enter" instead, it does neither and just shuts the menu. Maybe it's not exactly a bug in a common sense of the word, but it's a really counter-intuitive and hardly user-friendly feature anyway.
