Any F1 fan?

Hello all!

Since this is an engineering game forum, i'm interested to know if anybody else around is watching the ongoing winter test with any kind of interest. 

I might be wrong, but would guess there is many people from the United States here, does the entry of Haas in the world championship create any kind of renewed interest in your place?

I am quite fond of F1. I do agree with a lot of the negative comments on the sport (Mercedes is way overpowered, the races have less action). But things like Max Verstappen sure do make up for all that.

Indeed, Kid Verstappen is really cool to watch.

As for the complains, really i think it's just an F1 cycle, domination is kinda part of the sport DNA, Ferrari are roaring to unsettle them.

Hope Kimi can get one last very good season out of him, he once was something to behold in a race car, if only that early 2000's Mclaren could have held together! lol

Vettel was faster on the same rubber all day today, hope this mean something!

Im a pretty big fan of F1 although the recent cycle of 1-team domination is starting to put me off. Its hard to control but i just wanna see 3 or 4 team fight it out every race.

F1...That's the smallest kind, right? The one that's noticeable, but not really big enough to cause real damage? I've never seen any 'wild' tornadoes, but it sure would be interesting!

Well I am a fan of my F1 button, screenshots are handy... Oh wait, this is about the cars. I like other racing, such as the racing you get in car games. Not street racing but not lap racing.

I love all types of racing with a passion. In fact I've been looking around trying to find a place somewhat near me with an amateur league.

I love watching Formula 1, and I love driving F1 in sim games like Race07, rFactor, and the like. In fact I have a thread all about racing, which you all can check out here.

I'm quite exited for the new qualifying rules. Hope it brings some more changes in the grid line ups.

Since Max Verstappen joined last year things got a lot more interesting. My god that kid knows how to drive. He's bold, young and above all not afraid to take a risk or to fail. He didn't even own a drivers license since he was still too young. (By now he's old enough, not sure if he got a license yet.)
If he gets a chance with one of the big teams (and I am sure he will in a few years) he may even get a shot at the title. Pretty sure he'll also get his first pole and medal this season or the next.

My big gripe with F1 is that the cars are so expensive and fragile that drivers can only be *so* aggressive. I loved stock car racing back in the day before it went all corporate, but these days I find rally racing the most fun to watch.

Can't say I've ever found racing to be particularly interesting or engaging. I am somewhat fond of e-sports versions though, particularly Empty Box on youtube, whenever he puts up iRacing videos. Basically, I never follow real life racing enough to know the context, so it's more interesting to me to follow someone online, where I get to see one cars story (of a particular race) from start to finish, and listen to someone explain what they are doing and why.
