Pilot Challenge: Fly my Mini SSTO

So I am not the best pilot, but I like to design planes and build a small SSTO: https://www.dropbox.com/s/32jjxfvjqcqlhqg/Mini%20SSTO.craft?dl=0

I'm trying to get it in orbit but I keep failing....

It has some extra fuel:

Press 1 to toggle the engine mode.

Do you have the skills to get this baby into orbit ?

Set SAS to 30 degrees.

At 10km follow propragrade. You should hit 1550 m/s on air breathing If not fly a little shallower.

With the right assent this shoudl be able to make a Mun flyby

Yes, I get that. ^_^

The challenge is to do it with my plane and post a picture of the orbit.

Triop,

Yeah, it definitely had more fuel than necessary. My first attempt got a 72x72 orbit with 75.39 fuel and 38.61 oxidizer remaining. That left 238 m/sec DV on orbit and a whole lot of unused liquid fuel.

I went supersonic early, then climbed out at half- throttle and 30° pitch.

At 13km altitude, I followed prograde and increased throttle. I hit 1,550 m/sec at 23km altitude, then pitched to 15°, engaged closed cycle, and switched to map view. Once apoapsis cleared 40km, I engaged prograde hold and throttled for 72km apoapsis.

It'll do the job, but you really need a solar panel on it and probably a battery as well. Otherwise you're liable to lose control on reentry.

*edit* It will fly a lot nicer if you disable the control response of your main "wings" and disable yaw response on your elevons.

Best,
