Delta-V for Kerbin to Vall orbit and Back

A thing you can do to make finding the transfer window easier is getting the Kerbal Alarm mod if you don't have it. You can set it to find the next transfer window. I say this because although the  olex.biz site does tell you the angle it can be hard to eyeball it in game.

Just a rough estmate, you need 3300 or so to get into LKO, another 2000 or so to get to Jool, say 1500 to get into Vall orbit. Then you need 1500 to escape Jool from Vall and another 1000 or so to get back to Kerbin. That's almost 10,000m/s all told, 1/3 of that just getting to LKO.

You can do tricks with gravity maneuvers to cut that down but until you get that down, I'd stick with that rough estimate. And probably add 10% to it for safety.

You're going all the way there and then not landing? You make Jeb sad :(

It is a personnel return mission for an orbital station. The station rescued a few new kerbols and I'm anxious to complete those missions.

I'm going to refuel in Munar orbit.

Ah, that makes much more sense. Go get 'em!

On approach, try to get a flyby of Tylo or Laythe AFTER you pass Jool Pe.  You can use this to slow down enough to get captured by Jool without aerobraking or burning more than a few slight corrections.  Pass between Jool and your chosen planet, and watch your orbit, shaves off a bunch of dV.  Still have to circularize though unless you want to REALLY spend some time messing with nodes.
