Orion/SLS Mun Mission

A mission to the mun using my Orion Lookalike and an SLS booster, recreating a planned flight of the SLS with crew to the Moon. The flight up was quite shaky, but I survived. Here it is:

SLS Booster on Launchpad.

SLS second stage during TLI burn. As this stage is Kinda slow, the First stage was used on the circularization burn around Kerbin till Periapsis was about 50 km. Then second stage took over and completes TLI.

Orion approaches the Mun.

Made It! Orbit around 12 Km, 40 degree inclination. 

Departing the Mun. Still had a lot of Unused fuel, so this ship is pretty capable.

A nice, however dark and grainy, picture of Kerbin a few minutes before reentry.

Reentry. Pretty dangerous at 3 k/s

Jeb: La-di-da-di-doo!

Ah, those *reliable* rags that stop you from exploding. What a reassuring sight.

Another happy landing. Glad everyone made it.

An alternate ending. 

 

Now, lets hope this happens for real.
