Do you have any suggestions?

A few more things to do with rovers:

1) Make use of those nifty cargo ramps. Expect it to require creativity in figuring out how to dock and undock:

2)  Instead of having your spacecraft deploy rovers, have your spacecraft be a rover. And you don't need to think small:

Both of those methods are truely epic - Ive just started my base on Minimus and trying to get a rover on there that can transport ores and fuel is proving to be a problem but once ive got that i need to sort out a station, - i have the Extraplanetary Launchpads mod so setting a base first then getting a station up there less fuel needed etc, just getting the parts mined.

I want to try and get the MK4 Parts to get to orbit - already have a small fuel station up there - just getting that beast into orbit is painful to say the least. Maybe i should try and get the Mk3 bits up there

"Space is big. ... I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space."

Rovers are fun to play with, but you really don't want to be stuck with them for actual exploration.  Generally, it is a long way between biomes, and a rover isn't the way to get there.  If you must use rovers, try to get them at transition points between biomes (Mun is often a problem, rovers have issues entering/exiting craters.  And too many of the biomes are just craters).  If you are extremely lucky, you will find a transition biome between them (no idea how long it takes to find one if you don't just run through it).
