How do I select the second object at a location?

I'm trying to recover a scrap from the surface.  I can only select the Kerbal as a target for Mechjeb.  Is there any way to select the scrap instead??

 

 

Edit:  For this mission it's bugged anyway--the scrap is 300 meters underground.  What do I do next time?

I don't know MechJeb, but will assume you are trying to select stuff in the map mode? If so, put your cursor in the middle top of the screen (against the top edge) and a dropdown will drop... down. On it there are all the ship types, including Debris and Flags which are disabled by default. Click the debris icon and you'll be able to see it on the map and then - ideally - select it.

Thank you!  Yeah, I was in map mode.  Mechjeb doesn't let you select a landing target in ship view and despite the problems with it's landing module it's still vastly better than what I can do by hand.
