1.0.5 - "Black screen"

So I seem to have solved my earlier crashing issues, but I get this type of issue from time to time: On scene change, I'll load up with the majority of the scene black. Usually the navball, or some of the GUI, will be present. Actions won't work, and I'll have to end up force-killing the game.

Looks like the "Hell Kraken" @Claw and @NathanKell could be of some help.
