Munster - Medium/Heavy Lifter

Recommended Posts

So I call this creation 'Munster'. I basically took my standard LEO rocket and added one two-sectioned massive booster stage below it. The massive first stage can take the rocket straight up to about 200km, I assume that with proper ascent planning it might even be able to get the whole thing into orbit. This basically leaves you with a three-engined, 100% fueled rocket with lander to do whatever you\'d like (Mun, Minmus). You have a ton of fuel and a huge safety margin.

This particular model does use a MechJeb module but it can be removed and the rocket will still fly straight up with ASAS.

I must have missed something. How do you mirror in the VAB?

You put together one side, starting with the single stack on the side on the top, and then build down with the surrounding stacks. When you are finished with one side, you grab everything FROM the radial decoupler, turn double symmetry on, and put it back in place.

This is correct, you can download the .craft file if you\'d like to take a closer look at it.

Hi Chewie,

I love this rocket - among my favorites, right up there with the Hercules II heavy lifter.

Would it be asking too much for a Evel Kernebal guy and motorbike on top instead of the standard command module?

I\'m having the hardest time building your rocket from scratch and using Evel Kernebal and trying to mimic your design.

sweet! thank you so much! I lost my new Nikon D800e yesterday after waiting for it since February, but now I can launch to the moon and drive around aimlessly for hours on a sweet motorbike and be distracted from what an idiot I am for a while.
