I think I know what you are talking about. Take a look at this issue and is it what you means? Autopilot/SAS commands on all probes are not delayed by Remotetech. A fix to this issue is already being worked out.

Yes but no. I'm experiencing that as well, but with this other thing, it actually says "local control" over at the top left.

Is it normal for antennas to stop working underwater ? I recently started working on oceanic probes added by a mod however the second they splash down anywhere on kerbin and start sinking the antenna goes out and I loose the probe? I was under the impression that connections could be made to the space center pretty much anywhere on or around kerbin

Expand

Near the KSC, I tested a probe with battery and Com 16-S and Com 32 antennas underwater. So far, I maintained the working connection all way down until the battery was flat. (I landed on water very softly to save the antennas from breaking)

Seem a connection can be made under ocean surface.

If I have two KR-7 that are with in range of each other, activated, set to "no target" and have line of sight should they not automatically connect?

Is the KR-7 an omni antenae? You're saying that its set at ''no target'' seems to indicate just that, that its not focused or targeting anything, hence the no connection...

Ok reading it that way makes a little more sense.  I thought if they were not targeting to anything they would try and pick up something to link it's way back. I guess not.

RemoteTech 1.8.5 for KSP 1.2.2 released (See 1.8.6 below)

This release 1.8.5 is standard maintenance, contained several bug fixes and improvements

What are fixed:

  • KSP's autopilot (SAS) is no longer freaking out in presence of large signal delay
  • Mission Control will be checked and relocated automatically to Kerbin/Earth on some Kopernicus or similar maps
  • KSP's autopilot commands are now delayed properly (no SAS loophole for you)
  • A new visual filter in Map View to display all working connections of all satellites, not just one working connection at any time
  • The issue with not gaining any science data at the end of a science-data transmission should be gone for sure

Complete changelog is below:

If you find any bug, please report them on our github (as it is hard to keep track of bugs here). Feedback is also welcome for the next release, here or on this github post.

We are in the RT 2.x branch development and continue to support the RT 1.x branch.

I had this issue too, and there's a solution to it on one of the closed issues on the RemoteTech Github. You need to open up your RemoteTech_Settings.cfg file, and rename the ground station "KSC Mission Control" to just "Mission Control". This should fix the issue, and return the game to being playable. Answer courtesy of YamoriYuki on the issue tracker.

Hmm intristing BUT what it will happen if there are multiple ground station not only one?!?! what in my case for example i have ~56 ground station in a RSS scenario :) save (custom RemoteTech_Settings.cfg) , Default_Settings.cfg it came with corect name "Mission Control"
thx for sharing & pass info :)

Speaking about RemoteTech_Settings.cfg how it will be correct syntax ?
A. MapFilter = Omni, Cone, Path (Default_Settings.cfg original one)
B. MapFilter = Omni, Dish, Cone (RemoteTech_Settings.cfg custom one)

Should this update be savegame breaking? I am playing with the current pre-release of Realism Overhaul, and everything was going quite smoothly, but when I installed this update (remote tech is one of the few mods I'm having ckan manage) I lost the remote tech settings icon from the space center, there is no remote tech 'connected' or 'not connected' display when I load ships, and KSP is now running at about 0.2 frames per second.

Is this a potential bug in the new RT, a conflict with RO, or a CKAN install problem?

Edit: removed RT from ckan and installed it manually, and the problem is still there. KSP is acting like RT just isn't there :s

The latest dev release seems to fix it, at least for me.

Interesting. It worked for me too, thanks.

Odd though, from what I saw that was from the ground station being named 'KSC mission control' instead of 'mission control' ? But my settings file already had the name correct, so there must have been more to it.. either way, its working now!

@Blacks @JellyBlade @PhilMcgroin @Jobadiah

My apologies for the log spam. I didn't anticipate such name variants of the Mission Control station from some map mods. Thanks for reporting this bug so quickly!

As you already found out, a hotfix 1.8.6 was pushed to public few hours ago.

P.S. Check the default settings in your GameData/RemoteTech folder and RemoteTech settings in your save folder for the correct "Mission Control" name if your problem persists.

RT2 will have CommNett integration and more stuff

at the moment RT only gets bug fixes
its the same as in 1.1.3

@Bersagliere81

Yup, basically

Currently, RemoteTech 1.x branch is what the public uses. We are supporting this branch with bug fixes and small improvements only. It disables CommNet permanently and runs its own network, just like RT 1.1.3.

The RemoteTech 2.x branch is the new development onto the KSP's CommNet plus new features that are long requested/deferred/new.

Ok, here's my question, I opened KSP, and for some reason thought remotetech was a standard feature of KSP... don't ask me why. Well my satelites didnt load, now I put remotetech in the gamedata folder, and my satellites i spent minutes putting into orbit so i have a GPS system are gone... is there any way to save my effort? Thanks for any help.

Hi,

From what I understand your post, you launched and placed your com satellites prior to the RemoteTech installation but those sats were deleted by KSP for invalid parts after RemoteTech installation. Is this correct? Or are your com sats present but you can't make connections to any of the sats due to the signal rules of RemoteTech?

If your com sats are still there, RemoteTech has a cheat toggle in its option window at the KSC scene to configure the antennas of your sats in absence of a connection. (Beware, RemoteTech rules make the sat communication much harder, like shorter omni ranges and limited-cone dishes)

no, I was updating all my mods in KSP, my satellites were in orbit with the old version of Remote-tech(RT) installed, I removed it, opened the game, then my ships got removed. Now I reinstalled RT and the satellites are nowhere to be seen. I also discovered that my satellite dish components are not loading into my VAB even though I have them researched and bought in the science center. Is there a fix for this, or should I just start a new campaign?

So, if I understand correctly what happened (and I think I do, I've had the same happen before) what happens is when you load your game without all of the necessary (part) mods (i.e.: mods that have parts in them) and you have active vessels that are using some of those (now missing) parts, the game will not be able to load those vessels and basically ''deletes'' them from your roster of active vessels (you would have gotten a message as soon as you reached KSC telling you which vessels failed to load). If you ''ok'' the message and continue, you have basically confirming the removing of those vessels.

To prevent this, you have 2 options: 1- when you reach KSC and you get that message telling you such and such a vessel was not loaded, DO NOT click ''ok', but hard close the game (atl-F4). This will prevent your vessels with missing parts from being removed from the roster of active vessels, 2- DO NOT load the game without all (part) mods being present where you have active vessels that are using some of those parts.

To remedy this, you have again, two options: 1- hyperedit your crafts back in place, 2- substitute your save files with the latest backups.

Ouch. Calvin_Maclure explained well  why it happened.

Here is one trick for you to revert to a pre-change save. In KSC or Flight scene, press ALT+F9 (not F9) to open up a list window of previous manual and automatic saves. Some pre-change saves should be there.

If you are unable to find any old save, i am afraid you are out of luck.
