Small suggestion for savegames, make previous saves visible

Recommended Posts

Hi All.

I would like it if, when saving the game via the menu, instead of just giving you a textbox to type a name in, that it shows you a list of existing saves.

Almost every other savegame menu in the industry works this way.

Probably a decent proportion of you have a "go-to" savegame name that you use, maybe its ";sjfgnshnsf" or "MyName1" or something like that. Not being able to see the list means its just a little more difficult to organise your saves. Perhaps you are sequentially saving your progress: "MyName1", "MyName2" etc. and you dont remember which number you are on...risk overwrite?

Anyhoo, its a small change so no worries either way.

Peace!

(inb4 "just check in the load menu" - thats not how a good UI works)

Fully agreed.

The current save system reminds me the Motorola StarTAC phone that was designed in 1996 and if you wanted to save a new contact you had to remember or guess the id of a free slot :)

Or "Have I used a space there? Was it 'MyName1' or 'MyName 1'?" You save and then you don't know which one to load because the save time isn't shown too. Of course you always can press Alt-Tab, go the saves and see, then get back and type. Exactly as if you were using the StarTAC phone.
