KSP does take a comparatively long time to load but those sort of times are crazy for a HDD, let alone a SSD.  The first thing I would suspect without more information is that you're using an anti-virus or similar product that is being very, very hard on any executable starting-up.  Worst case is if  you have more than one trying to provide realtime protection (eg; Windows defender plus a separate anti-virus program).

Non-tech version; your security guards are checking everyone's ID very hard when they try to come in.  If you have two security companies checking ID they're spending a lot of time fighting between themselves over who has jurisdiction anyway.

Google for "KSP long load time".  I had this issue suddenly with 1.1 where each item being loaded during the splash screen took a couple seconds, which leads to half hour load time.

The fix involved disabling my Ethernet adapter.  Don't ask, just Google it, or look in my posting history for the thread.

Since then, I did a compete Windows reinstall (going from 7 to 10) and now no issues.

You are using 10GB worth of mods? That's your problem right there. KSP has to load every single texture into memory on load, if you've got 10GB worth, that would do it. Try cutting back on your mods.

When starting KSP, if the list of items being loaded is going so slow that you have time to actually read it, then it's the same problem I had.  If your slowness is shown some other way, then it's probably not the same issue.

10 gb of ram usage?! Holy mods batman!

Yeah, that's the problem. KSP has to load everything all at once and keep it loaded, so it takes a long time if you have a ton of part mods it has to load. 10 GB is a TON. Prior to 64 bit anything over 4 would kill the game, and even now I don't generally go too far over that.

Yeah, that's the problem.

Eh? I've hit that sort of memory usage on many occasions (in 1.0.5). Current 1.1.2 install runs at ~8.5GB and loads just fine. Loading 10GB from disk into RAM should not take anywhere near 20 minutes, even for spinning rust. Given that this is a decent SSD it's certainly not normal, at least IME.

@ktmemp: Watching the log file while it loads (On Unix we have 'tail' for this, dunno about Windows) will probably make it obvious what's taking so long.
For any real diagnosis beyond guessing: Mod list, logs etc.  Do you have any mods installed that do a lot of processing at startup (e.g. Active Texture Management)?

This was with no mods, and I had never installed hamachi.  I still had the problem.  I disabled my normal motherboard network interface in Windows, started KSP and it came right up.

Yeah ksp using 10 gb with mods but still its so much time.It should be max 5 min every other game or program loading around 1-2 min.I want to play with mods thats why everyone waiting so long about 64 bit.Whats to point ıf I have to wait 20 min.I know there are more people using more mods than me maybe they wait half hour thats problem I think.

Actual loading times are not HDD limited in KSP from my experience. It takes just as long to load from my HDD as it does from my SSD (I have the same SSD as the OP).

I suspect that what takes the time is decompressing the textures, and 10 GB is alot. Depending on what the mods are, I could  see it taking 20 minutes.

I'm still pretty dubious of that theory TBH, if KSP were still using png textures, sure... but DDS is natively supported by the GPU - so it doesn't, AFAIK, need decompression/conversion.
Either way, no logs == guessing game.

As always, the devil is in the details. "even 1kb mod" tells me nothing, as while 1KB isn't much data, 1KB of bad code might well make the game fail to load altogether. Which "1KB mod" are you talking about? How did you install it? is this mod added to a clean, stock install or added to the vast assortment you already have?

Have you actually tried any of the suggestions offered, such as disabling network adapters and virus scanners? What were the results? Where are your log files? Have you followed the troubleshooting guidelines in the post I linked? If so, what did you find?

Vague loading time comparisons and references to other (incomparable) games may serve to illustrate that something fishy is going on, but it provides no clues as to what that might be. Help us to help you.

Egads, I give up. You clearly still haven't read the "How To Get Support (READ FIRST)" thread I linked to. If you had, you wouldn't be asking where to find logs.

Why is it, that when I try to assist someone and ask for debugging information, the best I ever get is around 30% of that requested?
