KSP Astronomical Events

As normally, I was playing with Tarsier Space Tech and cockpit zoom trying to figure out if planets would be visible. Not only I figured out eve can easily be seen with basic cockpit zoom, but also events such as transits can be seen! Everyone has seen Kerbol eclipse, but has somebody seen an transit occur? Eclipse occurs once every 6 days, but Eve and Moho transits are extremely rare, as Moho and Eve have a lot more inclined orbits. Here are some photos of eclipses, transits and oppositions captured with cockpit zoom and Tarsier Space Tech telescope, and if you have observed Eve and Moho transits, solar eclipses or even as rare things as Minmus transits and occultations, be sure to show me your pics :)

There should be +100 science points for those transit pics

I plan to revisit Eve transit as I was trying to capture it with just cockpit zoom to show that it is possible, now I want to photograph it with telescope from Tarsier space tech, but unfortunately it's really rare event :(

I was on Mun (or) Minmus trying to transmit loads of data but kept on running out of power

I right clicked on the solar arrays and it said Sun blocked by (whatever moon)

Had a look up and watched a full eclipse

In fact I am on Duna and just about to watch Ike do a partial :)

I've seen eclipses of Kerbol by Ike when I ran out of electricity on my rover and forgot to put solar panels or RTGs on it. I was just warping forward to new and new eclipse :D

Kerbol/Kerbin/Mun alignments and eclipses are reasonably common events within Kerbin SoI, but they do sometimes make an event worth watching. Perhaps worthy of mention in this context.

Spoiler

Kerbin setting over Mun, under the watchful eye of Kerbol.

Spot the Mun.... (sat is trying hard to hide it :D). This drew my attention and made me stop time warp, and was rewarded with a double eclipse to follow.

halfway through the event, Kerbin and Mun are at same apparent size.

I've seen quite a number of eclipses from space, but not that often where both Kerbin and Mun coordinate like this.

Should be breathtaking to witness a similar thing around Jool.

Wow, Moho is tiny! I saw the transit of Mercury similarly magnified relative to the Sun, and it was definitely much bigger than that. It just shows how huge normal-sized Kerbol is compared to the other planets.

Yes, Moho is just over the size of Eeloo, while real life Mercury is a lot bigger than Pluto. I've also seen Mercury transit (that one that occured in 9th of May) and Mercury was about as big as Eve in my image, real Venus is also a lot bigger than in-game Eve in front of Sun.

That double eclipse is beautiful! I never saw one but it is breathtaking :)

I once was doing SCIENCE over Eve and saw a Moho transit. I've also seen my fair share of Total Kerbolar Eclispses.

Total eclipses are beautiful even after seeing them 10 times :)
