  1. I was on Mun (or) Minmus trying to transmit loads of data but kept on running out of power I right clicked on the solar arrays and it said Sun blocked by (whatever moon) Had a look up and watched a full eclipse In fact I am on Duna and just about to watch Ike do a partial
  2. Your last paragraph ........I get it now....the original question I mean Three orbits round the Sun is an awful long time ...... you would run out of Snacks by the time you reached Duna again
  3. I just selected another rover (minmus) and looked at F3 Nothing logged Moved rover Logging started It seems you have to activate F3 on each vehicle to start the log
  4. Ref: F3 For some reason it has started to show some more info, but it is only showing the info (since) I looked at the landing cradle and the info it is showing ( is only ) the info (directly since) switching back to the rover
  5. Just looked at the F3 window ....didn't know it was there Total ground distance *Logged* it says '0' Total Distance travelled *Logged* it says'0' Actually it is showing the info for the landing cradle which I use to land the rover & not the rovers info The landing cradle is hundreds of kilometres away from here I know it's the cradles info because it says Max G Force 0.3 G Just checked the Cradles info and it has (it's own info) It has been on Moho for 22 days .....22 days and I have still not reached the missions location ....nearly there though
  6. I have rovers on several planets and at the moment my Moho rover has gone at least a quarter of the way round the planet on a single mission So How far have I travelled .....would love to know as it has taken nearly a week in real time And how's about how far each ship has travelled ? ..... Time since launch *yes* ..... but distance *No* Mileometer . Kilometer readout like in your car please
  7. How's about when the situation is completely hopeless and Doom is assured a panic stricken voice saying ....Ejecting Black Box
  8. Not really sure what you are on about so all I can add is When I did the Kerbin to Duna I did it with two ships 1st ship was going to Duna .... second to Ike ... So initially both were set up to encounter Duna Just by *Chance* the second ships encounter when *Viewing* Duna ....to see the encounter lines .... it encountered Duna and the carried on and looped around Ike .... Pure chance but it just shows how good things can get if you use the *Game* and everything that has been implemented Learning what is actually in the game without a manual is half the fun IMHO
  9. When you make maneuver node from say Kerbin orbit > Duna encounter Do it as per normal then while in map screen *FOCUS* on duna ... zoom in or out and your flight line will show up as a short orange line showing your angle of approach ... you can alter this by moving the nodes (or) when you have done the main burn use your *thrusters* to fine tune the encounter
  10. Are you playing sandbox ? Start a career game
  11. Still in 1-0-5 got loads going on and don't want to abandon the present game But I also thought the new one was invitation only (beta) .... I didn't know it was available to the masses Can you use the old game save files in the new one ?
  12. I think the longest time warp I have ever needed to do was about 4 days as while I am waiting for a transfer window a am busy doing other things like building & assembling ships for the next missions or mining, I sent ships with 16 Kerbals out to Mun & Minmus to plant flags and then out to orbit the Sun so I could build up their rankings ...each of those jaunts usually takes around 90 days or so.... there are plenty of things to do while waiting for a transfer window And how come you *Burns* are so long .... three mins is about average to duna or the rest of the outer planets .... same for braking for orbit The missions *contracts* to the outer planets come along once you start going farther out....two of my crew compliment were rescued from Duna I have ongoing contracts on Duna - Ike- Moho .....they seem to have dried up for Mun & Minmus as I go father out into the system, I am on Year 4 Day 328 ..... What you do need for this game is plenty of *drone fuel bowsers* around Kerbin to refuel anything you launch which is going to the other planets & be good at docking to assemble ships and refuelling them, make sure anything you send >>> out there<<< has a mining capability to refuel so you can get back home
  13. "Right now I am operating the Jool Rover .... Jool is one horrible planet full of mountains and deep valleys ...you have been warned" Edit ....someone just pointed out Jool is the wrong planet I am exploring Moho with a rover right now .... and it's still full of horrendous mountain ranges So why did I send 6 rovers to the Jool system when I only need 5 ..... oh well that will be a spare if I crash somewhere
  14. I thought going interplanetary was the whole point of KSP I was put on to KSP about six months ago and started strait off in career mode I did a few Mun & Minmus landings docking etc and when I thought I was ready I started a new game I have large fully equipped rovers on Mun Minmus Ike Duna & Moho, in orbit I have crew recovery vessels waiting to pick the kerbals up when needed & very large space stations around all the above places I also have Six ships on the way to Jool and all the moons, each ship is a space station with a very large rover and recovery vessel all in one ... they will be split up when they get there I also have a Rover and Space station on the way to Eeloo The largest ship I have made was the Duna Monster over 900 parts and nearly 800 tons ... that took a lot of launches and loads of very carefull docking of very large parts Right now I am operating the Jool (edit) Moho Rover .... Jool Moho is one horrible planet full of mountains and deep valleys ...you have been warned My next launch window is for Gilly as I have a mission there So far I have 232 missions under my belt and 32 flights going on at the moment and 14 contracts under way 43 kerbals assigned and 5 ready for the next mission .... all my kerbals are grade 3 and 4 are grade 4 This is probably the very best do what you want and go everywhere you can game ever written I have the launch window thingy and the speech mod ...everything else is stock game
  15. Thanks.....I have saved and copied your text for the future
  16. You are supposed to put the Stability enhancers on the lowest part of your craft If your ship rocks around on the launch pad (or) wobbles around when in flight I find that a bunch of RCS units at the pointy end keeps the craft stable Don't forget to turn them on
  17. Subassembly .... is this something to do with the (merge) feature in the VAB ?
  18. You could write a thousand pages in gratitude But simply put .... thanks to the guy who put me on to this & thanks to every single Kerbal here Just love being a Kerbal
  19. I voted (no) .... you should go the same route as every other sentient life form .... send a probe
  20. I for the life of me cannot even figure out how to put things in the cargo bay let alone on the flipping doors
  21. How about .... being as this in reality is just a computer Game/simulation When you actually complete a mission (or) land without killing your crew...you get a round of applause from the guys back at mission control .... a simple sound file would suffice It happens in real life so why not here
