Recommended Posts

Help! I have been so excited to play and never had the chance...

Installed and loaded the game. Went to setting right away and upped a couple things and changed to full screen. Then the game crashed on me. Here is that log:

KSP.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)

0 MB paging file [1523 MB free].
2048 MB user address space [55 MB free].

I uninstalled the game (deleted local content) to hopefully bring it back down from fullscreen, and now the game crashes in the first load screen. Here s the latest crash log:

Running 32 bit on Windows 10. Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00 GHz 6.00 GB ram installed, 3.25 usable.

Your help making this work would be amazing. Thanks!

KSP.exe is a 32-bit application that can only use up to 3.5GB of system RAM before it crashes. Try running KSP_x64.exe instead, which can utilize more of your system RAM.

Also, make sure that you're not running other memory-intensive programs / background processes at the same time.

Also, as sumghai suggested, if you can run the 64-bit version that would be better for you.

If not, then try deleting the settings.cfg and trying again. Or you can edit the settings.cfg and look for the line that says "TEXTURE_QUALITY" and change it to "TEXTURE_QUALITY = 3" (I'm going to guess you edited your settings to a resolution/texture quality that was higher than what your system can support).

If that doesn't work, please upload the complete log file so we can see a bit more about what's happening.

Cheers,
~Claw

This line implies he is running a 32bit version of Windows so the game can only allocate ~1.7GB before it will crash.

This would be my guess too.  I presume the "delete local content" didn't get rid of settings.cfg because it isn't part of the original install.
