EVA question

Hello!

i read somewhere that in the first version of the EVA oxygen supplies probably won\'t be implemented, so technically, i was wondering if it was possible to keep a ship in orbit, send my little Jeb flying down on the mun, and then have him fly back into the ship.

Thus making a moon trip that didn\'t require a lander, i think it would be quite an awesome thing to do since i suck at building landers that can fly back to kerbin...

I suppose you could, assuming the thrusters built into the suit have unlimited fuel, but you\'d have a very hard time getting back to the ship once you landed. You\'d have to wait for it to come back around, then time out a perfect rendezvous.

why thank you, and whilst i do believe that once EVA gets worked on in further updates, doing this will probably be impossible, i just hope that for a small time, i\'ll be able to fly down to the surface of the mun, and look up at my ship drifting away in orbit, maybe take a stroll while i\'m waiting for it to come back over my head, just once.

Sickboy, i\'ll tell you how to make a good lander.

1. Have the capsule with a parachute.

2. A decoupler.

3. Put a Adv. SAS, or regular SAS.

4. 1 tank of RCS fuel.

5. A bigger tank of liquid fuel. (or 2 smaller ones)

6. Another tank of RCS fuel.

7. Have a smaller liquid engine on the bottom.

8. Have 4 RCS thruster blocks on the RCS fuel tanks. (or anywhere really)

9. This is better than landing legs, have 4 Winglets near the bottom of the lander. (it helps with control, it is stronger than the landing legs also)

It occurs to me that if you could get the little kerbonaut to shoot up off the surface for a minute or two, it would be insanely awesome to switch to the orbiter, swoop down, and try to scoop him up like a falcon stooping on a pigeon. Nearly impossible. Deeply stupid. Almost certainly fatal. Utterly awesome. Kind of like skeet shooting, with you flying the shotgun projectile.

Or like a bug on a windshield.
