He - the early series jet aircraft

This will be all of the He-series jets I never got around to! He-1 series, and He-2 series!

100% stock (contemplating modded He-2 series jets)

100% reliable (With a few kerbal moments!)

The planes below will simply have a special role put after their name when they are completed, and they will have a kerbalX link, with a full imgur album on the KerbalX site.

I will also do some alternate kerbal history paragraphs for them.

 

 

He1 Series:

He1 Flying wing test (1943)

The Kerbin Socialist Workers Party hires Heinkel Kerman to develop a flying wing vehicle for further stealth capabilities, preventing enemies from scrambling their new high performance propeller aircraft, whilst retaining the high speed capabilities of a jet aircraft.

He2 Transonic jet fighter (1944)

The Kerbin Socialist Workers Party is losing the great Kerbin War, and they need a fighter capable of breaking the sound barrier in a dive, as well as retaining high speeds in level flight, and have ordered Heinkel Kerman to develop a transonic single engine jet aircraft capable of 30-60 minute flights.

He3 Supersonic test vehicle

The Kerbin Socialist Workers party fell in 1945, their scientists were hired off, and the Heinkel company has become international, with a Koviet division, and an Amerikan division, their first vehicle was the He3, designed to test and study supersonic flight, and hydrodynamics on jet engines. This information has allowed them to develop a larger, more powerful jet engine, and perhaps, more powerful vehicles in the future.

Koviet Union thinks Amerika will gain some superiority over them if they can buy off the scientists, so they are buying off scientists, and forming their own agency.

He4 World's First Supersonic Air Jet Aircraft (Air breathing)

The He4 was the Heinkel Kompanies last aircraft built for both Koviet Aero Industries, and Amerikan Air Force contracts in unison.

Due to the new technologies known as Atom Bombs, the two countries have broken out into a full on race to see who can develop the best technologies faster, so the Heinkel Kompany was split into Russian Kommand, and Heinkel. These kompanies will endure for a long time, and be developing lot's of different fighters, however, Russian Kommand will not be making any progress in the aero industry, as they are working towards the goal of space exploration, where Amerika is working towards better aircraft technologies, the space race will be lead by Koviets early on it seems.

He5 Experimental Mach 2 capable turbojet

Heinkel was developing a new engine capable of much higher thrusts when needed, and better fuel efficiency when not needed, and came up with the afterburner, a revolutionary way to waste more fuel.

Heinkel plans to use this new engine design on most if not all of his future fighter jet designs, and he has plans for upgrades too, it's top secret, don't tell anyone, but he calls his next idea thrust vectoring.

He6 4th Generation Jet Fighter

The 4th generation of jet fighters is upon us, as Heinkel leads the way with the Amerikan Kompanies support.

This new 4th generation fighter is highly maneuverable, can hit mach 2 at altitude, and mach 1.6 on the deck, and keep above mach 1 while maneuvering if needed, albeit slower than subsonic, this aircraft is the best in the word. For now.

He7 4th generation interceptor

Heinkel has developed a new breed of interceptor mixing in a V tail design with delta wings, and asserting himself as the high speed champion over the Koviet Union. For now...

He8 mach 4 interceptor

Heinkel needed a way to deliver top secret info, without the hassle of ground, or sea transport. He needed some way of spying on the soviets without a hitch. He gives us his He8, mach 4.45 capable interceptor / reconnaissance / information transport vehicle.

(He-21-28 are all training aircraft, and they resemble the He29 - He36 aircraft, with weaker jet engines)

I will bump this thread when I am done with the He-1 series, and when I am done with the He-2 series rather than after every 2 - 3 new additions, so don't expect a warning, I'll just simply edit the OP, and they will be there, no updates really, unless you follow me on KerbalX.

If you read the histories of the aircraft down when I am finished, you will see an alternate Kerbal history starting from the rise and fall of the war on kerbin, and then the rise and fall of the Kold War, when it's finished of course.

Indeed! I just wanted you to be able to read the descriptions easier! However, I can scale the pictures down if that works for ya! :D Will be up tomorrow by the same time today.

Max estimates, acording to wikipedia, is 12.01

The engine was actually run, and managed 11 Kn when sitting still, and 10.5 in flight.

The B variant had 2 built, and produced 13 Kn (roughly) sitting still, and 12.01 in flight.

 

The He-162 used the Bmw-003E, 7.83 Kn

The Me-262 used the Jumo 004B, 8.8 Kn

The most powerful one conceived at the time was the Bmw-018, at 34.3 Kn.

No Bmw-018 engines were completed, but the SNECMA ATAR is an almost exact replica, with industrial grade parts rather than crude hand milled and welded parts, and it produced 58.9Kn.

 

The SNECMA ATAR / BMW-018 were both roughly the same size as the Juno, which is essentially a verbalized Jumo 004. (I accounted for Kerbal - Real life measurements).

So if the Juno was realistic, at best it could produce 58.9 Kn in real life, and scaled down to Kerbin Scale, it would be 82.46 Kn.

 

Most of the engines ingame are not as powerful as their real life counterparts, or are as powerful, or more powerful, it isn't really scaled well, but the Juno is a little underpowered compared to jet engines of the same size, and made in 1948.

I am extremely educated in the history of jet engines, and aircraft :) Thanks for giving me the idea of scaling the Juno's thrust down though, but it's 40% more powerful than the Jumo 004, because the size of the game is 40% smaller, and they need to account for that.

Probably, but it's 40% stronger, because if it wasn't, it wouldn't be worth using on anything, since the atmosphere is quite thick down low.
