Cannot resume saved game

Recommended Posts

So, I was attempting an Elcano challenge on my main KSP save. I turn ksp off, and later I come back. I click on the resume save button, and there is nothing but grey. So, I make a new save and transfer all the data in the old one into the new save. This works, and I can play. KSP crashes, and I boot it back up. The save I just made disappeared, which forces me to come to the forums in search of help. I can provide logs if you want.

Gutted for you - not a simple 1 up launch but a marathon round the object super-mission.  Hopefully someone can help you get your save but definitely logs would be useful starting point as as much other information as you can provide including:

  • KSP version including Windows, Mac, or Linux, 32 or 64-bit, and if it's Steam
  • A detailed explanation of what happened and what you were trying to accomplish
  • A screenshot of your craft or any relevant screens
  • A .craft file or save files if relevant
  • The ouput_log.txt or player.log file KSP creates when it launches and, if applicable, the crash log KSP has generated when the program crashed
  • A detailed list of system specifications
  • Are you running a clean installation, or have you updated and some of your persistence or craft files might be older versions, if so which version(s)

Best luck solving your problem :)

Edit, also just found this post from @sal_vager which may provide some useful background info, and something to try.
