Bluejayek
I have never used it, but can you please use capitalization correctly? Only the first word in a sentence should be capitalized, with the exception of proper nouns. As it is, it is as bad as no capitalization t all. Vanamonde
I\'m afraid I don\'t know either, but your upper case didn\'t ruin my day. ;D
vexx32
Dunno about any save editor, but it is perfectly possible with Notepad. The save files are just text, after all. Also... you will find that writing like that can tend to annoy about 75% of people on the Internet. It makes it more... broken... to read.

hildegain
Surely he did that on purpose in order to annoy somebody though... -.-
semininja
It\'s like Shatner in a hurry! On-topic: Editing things into orbit, for me, can be difficult if you want something to be in a specific place in the orbit. I don\'t actually quite understand all of the orbit parameters, such as the mean anomaly - epoch relationship to position in orbit.
maltesh
There\'s a Google Doc in my signature that tries to demystify some of the orbital parameters.Epoch is the time at which your orbital parameters were measured. Essentially, the time that your spacecraft was put on rails. If you want to set where your spacecraft is RIGHT NOW, It helps a lot if EPH is set to the same value as the Universal Time ( UT = ) value at the top of the persistence file.Mean Anomaly at Epoch is Time since periapsis in terms of the angle that a hypothetical body in a circular orbit that has the same semimajor axis as your spacecraft would travel, expressed in radians. All ellptical orbits with the same semimajor axis have the same period, and there are 2*pi radians in a full circle. So MNA = 0 will put you at Periapsis. MNA = 3.1415927 will put you at Apoapsis. MNA = (PI/2) will put you where you would be if your orbited for 1/4 your orbital period from periapsis. MNA = (3*PI/2) will put you where you would be if you orbited for 3/4 your orbital period... All of the above assumes that you\'ve also set EPH to the current in-game Universal Time Value.Storing Mean Anomaly at Epoch and Epoch makes it slightly cumbersome, but doable, to set an object at a certain time since or until periapsis in its orbit. Setting an object at a particular altitude in its non-circular orbit (that isn\'t at periapsis or apoapsis) from its Mean Anomaly at Epoch is significantly more complicated, as there isn\'t a simple equation to work with. How Are You Able To Put Things Into Orbit With The Save File Editor? togfox
The KGSS Journal #2 has an article on editing the persistance file. It is a summary of information already on this forum. Credit given to authors where appropriate.
