I screwed up... BIG TIME

Recommended Posts

While getting new mods, I accidentally deleted SQUAD off of GameData, I thought I had to because it looked like part of a mod, so no big deal right? I loaded KSP just now, and ALL OF THE PARTS ARE GONE aside from the ones from the 3 mods I have.

Please help me, I don't know how to fix it.

If on steam, right click on KSP in your library and do a 'verify game cache integrity' and it will download the missing files.

If using GOG, the KSP store, or any other method, you will probably need to re-download the entire game from those sources (I don't think that they do partial downloads/reconstructions like steam).

If you are playing from steam, first move your mod folders somewhere safe for a moment (anywhere but the ksp directory). Then from your steam library, right click on ksp and find 'check file integrity' or something similar. If i recall, its under the options selection of the right click popup.

That will scan your ksp folder and replace any missing files.

When its done, move your mods back in.

It worked, thanks!

Crisis averted! But if you aren't on steam, you can search the recycle bin and restore the game files if you lose them.

And remember that all you have to do is download KSP again and copy the squad folder from there into your normal install.
