contracted vessel names

Trying to do a contract created by the "Anomaly Surveyor contract pack"
It wants me to fly a ship named (discovery one) out to jool to find an anomaly.
ok cool, so i pick out a pod, change the name to discovery one, but that doesnt seem to satisfy that part of the contract.
if i cant even get the name of the ship to meet the criteria of the contract there is no point even leaving for jool
am i doing something wrong or is the contract just broken?

That part of the contract will not complete until you launch the vessel.

IIRC, the name doesn't matter. It just has to be a new vessel.

@ExplorerKlatt is correct.  You don't actually need to name the ship Discovery One - that's just what it will use internally to track it once it meets the child conditions.

You have to actually meet all the sub-requirements before the "parent" is ticked off.

So once you get a vessel that was put on the launchpad after accepting the contract in orbit of Jool and have a scientist and a pilot on board, then the "Vessel: Discovery One" node will complete (and I believe change to whatever that vessel's name actually is).

I usually name my vessels according to the contract for my own convenience, so as to remember its purpose.

it took 4 attempts cause i kept underestimating the delta-v requirements but i managed to complete the contract finally
