I actually made that gif myself because I thought it would have been a great chance to add more versatility to the capsule haha :D The only argument against this was that it would require people to add a nosecone to their crafts in the update - not much of an excuse to me though :P.

I agree with you there and COOL GIF!

maybe someone will release this as a new variant of the part.

Thing is I only want to use stock parts since I like being able to do/build everything in my game with mods that I could do without them - I wouldn't use is unless it was stock ;.;

Same here the only mods I have is me and my brother's part mods.

You never know it may be stock one day.

Ah well they both play one plans only and the other just random stuff :D same as me. Do you make parts for ksp?

I was only against due to circumstance.  In order to gain my support it needs the following be done.

1. Add a new nose-cone shielded mini-docking port that would match the cockpit and provide aerodynamic shielding when closed.

2. Replace the textures on the Small Nose Cone and Avionics hub to better match the cockpit.  I could tell from the images even before it was released that they were not a match in shape or texture, people in the thread didn't believe me and said I was wrong, they were identical... but as you can see I obviously have the better eyes.

Had Squad been willing to do these two tasks, I would have welcomed the open ended nose, but otherwise I want to keep it how it is.

Indeed - all good suggestions in my mind. Hell I could match the textures myself :) - not the shape though, there a bit shorter than the mk1 pointy nose. It's almost iconic how pointy it is, if that makes any sense :P.

The gradient was by biggest complaint over why they didn't match.  If it wasn't a seamless fit, like I couldn't tell it was 2 parts, I didn't want it.  But the nose cone is a much sharper gradient, if placed on the cockpit it would look as though it is changing the slope angle of the cockpit and it would be very apparent.  I honestly don't care as much about the point.

@NecroBones's Discontinued Parts adds the pre-1.0.5 Mk1 Cockpit (among other things, which you can delete if you don't want them) and works in 1.1.3.  It's one of my must-haves, as I detest the new Mk1 cockpit, as well as the Mk1 crew cabin, and will not use either for spacecraft.  The earlier Mk1 cockpit is what I use for my bigger manned rovers, as it looks so cool in that role:

My opinion is that it looks cool but the new one has its uses to.

Hugo's Mk3 parts never got a public release. IMHO they were certainly a lot better than the old ones, but when Porkjet got involved he took a different direction. In particular a larger, more useful cross-section - the old Mk3 size would not have fitted 2.5m payloads inside.

Yeah he was REALLY creative... His creativity exploded when he saw the HL line of B9 parts.
