Su-27 Build

Just finished up my project for today, a semi-detailed Su-27. Complete with radar and weapon systems, as well as accurate landing gear positions.

 

Initially it had center-of-lift issues, as well as some crazy instability, but that's mostly been tweaked out. I used parts from a variety of mods here, such as B9 (for the engines and wingtips), and BDArmory for the weapon and radar systems. And, of course, I had to tweakscale various parts to get it to look decent.

Pretty interesting as when the peoples from Sukhoi OKB start the trials of the T-10s they quickly discovered that if the aircraft got a fly-by-wire failure it was nearly impossible to recover it, its instability (and so maneuverability) being so important.

Interesting! I guess the design, especially the downward angle of the wings, sacrifices quite a bit of stability for the sake of maneuverability. I'll have to play around with it.

I've seen many Su-27 builds, but none seem to take in account its huge length of 21m. This is a semi replica that takes in account size. Your plane looks quite squashed ontop, if you google some pictures of the Su-27. It's good, but not really perfect.

It is neither good or bad, but it is a great start! I agree with @NotAnAimbot that it really looks a little squashed but it should be quite easy to fix with the use of the offset tool

It's more about choosing the right parts to build it. He'd need to change the wing base and tip parts to make it better, along with lengthening the fuselage.
