Moving to Mac

As I have two computers, one Windows and one Mac, I was planning on running ksp on both. As such, I have two questions:

1-Would moving the save file between the Mac and Windows versions work? Or would bad things happen?

2-Are there any nasty shocks for someone used to playing on Windows moving to Mac?

Thanks,

2. Yes. Mac sucks as OS :D (I had bad fortune to get a task related to OS X, I have prior experience with Windows and loved different Linux distros).

Yea, I already know Mac sucks as an OS. Although I have no choice sometimes so it's better than nothing. Just.

What's stopping you from trying it? If it works, it works. If it doesn't, too bad. Just delete the failed transfer and continue with whatever else you were doing.
It's not as if trying can fry your computer or cost a lot of time, effort or money. The very worst that could possible happen is you completely corrupt your KSP install. In that case just delete and re-install.

I'm a most-of-the-time-on-a-mac ksp player so I can help here.

1-All game files of almost all kinds are compatible with all game versions. This means that saves, mods and plugins are fully compatible, but the executable file isn't for obvious reasons (.exe on windows, .app on mac :)).

2-The mac version is *slightly* more unstable, and for some reason it wastes a lot of temporary disk space IMHO. But other than that, the ability to play on a computer mac which wakes up in an instant and doesn't screw up on alt command+tab is much better. As long as you don't have tons of incompatible mods like me, this may or may not mean some unexpected game crashes from time to time, but I don't say it's unplayable.

MacOS is fine, and fine for KSP. I use all three OSes at different times. I'm entirely OS agnostic, frankly.

Mine is very stable, and runs well. My PC is old, so I use my (still old, but newer) Mac (i7) for KSP, decently modded, and I've only had mod-related crashes lately (which happens on the PC as well). I loaded KSP on a mac laptop to answer a question for someone here with it running on a laptop, and it runs on the laptop as well.

I have no real issues with MacOS, frankly, heck, I have a terminal window open all of the time, and I use it (old unix habits die hard).

Yes it would work, but bad things can happen whenever copying or moving files. Basically it's no more or less risky than moving saves between 2 Windows machines.

None spring to mind. Subtle differences in keyboard layout and such could be a thing, but broadly speaking the game is identical in both formats. My mac is super old and super slow so I mostly use windows, but I have networked the Mac to the PC using/for Stand Alone Map View without issue.
