Science changes in 1.1.3

Recommended Posts

I've noticed a difference between 1.05 and 1.1.3: Formerly, when in flight or in orbit, a particular science activity, such as an EVA or crew report was a different event while overflying different biomes. Has this been changed or was it an effect of Science Alert?

The bathymetry module from one of the mods also seems to permit only one sample point for the whole ocean. Either I'm doing something wrong (again) or the game is presenting the bathymetry of Kerbin as monolithic.

Crew reports were never biome specific in orbit, unless you used a mod. EVA reports were always biome specific in orbit, unless you are using a mod. :P

No changes in the situation awareness of any science experiments were made between 1.0 and 1.1 as far as I know.

It's the same in 1.1.3 that it's always been (and is still the same in 1.2 pre-release).  Different experiments are biome-specific in different situations.

Biome-specific science, by situation:

  • When landed or splashed:  everything.
  • When "flying":  EVA report, crew report, temperature reading, atmosphere analysis.
  • Upper atmosphere:  atmosphere analysis
  • Orbit, low:  EVA report, gravioli
  • Orbit, high:  gravioli

I think that's the lot, unless I'm misremembering.
