Did I go anywhere wrong with installing the textures for RSS?

I click Rve, I then see EVE, sunflare, RVE (within eve there is atmosphere, city lights and terrain.

The issue Im having is my game does not show up after it loads.

EDIT: Game loads but I have trouble with the textures on planets flickering/clouds:

You don't have the RSS textures. RVE, scatterer and EVE are beautification mods, they by themselves have no content for RSS.

Go to the RSS thread and make sure to download a TEXTURE PACK. Note larger the size, the more strain on your computer and KSP.

Yeah, I don't know how I missed that. I added the 2048 textures for RSS. However, I am not able to get Scatterer working and there is terrible faults in the clouds in SVE.

Before installing a mod, please read the post.

Requirements:

  • KSP 1.0.4
  • RSS
  • EVEOverhaul (x86-EVE-Release.zip)
  • Scatterer
  • (No other cloud configs present in gamedata e.g. like in BoulderCo folder)

Recommended:

  •   PlanetShine
  •   WindowShine
  •   Distant object enhancements
(for appropriate planet and skybox brightness)
  •   CameraTools

Installation/use:

  •   Download RVE
  •   Install all required mods first
  •   Place all RVE folders from Zip into your Gamedata folder (overwriting)
  •   Place shared assets file into your KSP_data folder for RVE sun and lens flare (will break game in KSP 1.0.5, works in 1.0.4)
  •   Ignore .git and README.md looking files
  •   You need to go to launchpad/Runway before switching to craft in space
  •   Read known bug list

I can give you my RVE setup, but I'm at work now, if you're patient for a few hours, I can give you a download link. :)

I run ksp 1.1.3 fine with my current setup. RSS/RO, RVE and scatterer

Thanks for the reply.

Here is what happened:

I have managed to get ksp working with RSS installed.

The problem I have now is the clouds on Earth are very bad (Horrid, not even Kraken worthy).

I also encounter Scatterer making the planets flicker.

Some planets are fantastic while others, such as Titan where fantastic until its textures came off.

Please tell me it can be fixed!

Here is my gamedata set up:

(Texture replacer and SVE have been removed).

If you could give me your RVE setup would be great, thanks.

Here is the link.

Before copying my content to your gamedata folder.

Please delete your EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements, RVE and scatterer folder.

Reinstall TextureReplacer and keep StockVisualEnhancement uninstalled.

Let me know if there's something else :)

Funny, i compared your install with mine and while it is essentially the same there are some small differences, for example my scatterer config had no eclipsecasters don't ask me why =) and I lack a partfx.dll in RVE but it looks quite right to me. So depending when and from where you gathered your info your RSS with RVE will look slightly different. o_O

Thanks so much! There is a big improvement with the clouds, I no longer have that glitch.

When launching from the launch pad, I notice scatterer "Twitches" a little bit, I also notice the clouds seem a little flat when going out of the atmo and not as realistic. They also are a little blurry and my graphics res are set to full res/ high.

There is some little flickr on Mars.

Is there any way I can enhance the clouds/stop the flicking? Or these are just bugs I have to deal with.

Could you provide a guide, Its helpful, Thank you.

Over all MUCH better than before.

Yep I noticed the same. I think its because it's not build for ksp 1.1.3. The flicking on mars is only in map view (in my case). What you could try is press alt+F11, and change some of the parameters. just little tweaking. a slightly too big scale is I think the problem of het flicking..

For Mars, what am I going to click in scatterer's settings?, what value do I put. Would I need to do the same for Earth perhaps as well.? What value could I put for Earth. I don't want to tweak too much, just enough to stop the glitches.

Also, the atmo (terrain/clouds) disappears and re-appears after I am at a certain altitude with my rocket.

Hmm that's strange, only had that when hypereditting... Try to change some lines with the word 'scale' in it. just some easy little adjustments. If something goes wrong, you can always press 'load backup'
