Is the launch pad little too small now?

What is the mission of this rocket exactly? I\'m pretty sure you don\'t need a rocket this big to land on the mun or Minmus (even both).

Well eventually we are going to be able to go to other planets, and besides I thought part of the allure of the game was to be able to build and fly anything your imagination can cook up. I agree the launch pad needs a little bit of a bump up in terms of size, or have a second launch pad for larger spacecraft.

I also have found a lot of my designs are hitting the tower, I have resorted to using the clamps and launching my ship from above the tower.

That\'s what I do too. It\'s so weird seeing my rockets launched from stilts above the tower.

Planning a double landing with fuel to spare for things like poor navigation, extended cruising for ideal landing, and polar orbits etc. This craft is a close reproduction (using the new large parts) of a 0.15 craft which fit the pad better.

Use Launch Assist Towers to raise it above the launch pad.

so I just tried to launch a space station. Failed miserably. Why? My launch assist thingy was colliding with the tower. It\'s not even that big, it\'s 3 of the large fuel tanks plus 2 boosters wide, but because of my unusual design, I can\'t skip the launch assist thingies. It\'s lowest point is narrower than its middle, it\'d collapse under its own weight if I didn\'t give it launch assist thingies, but the LATs are INSIDE THE TOWER, so it explodes.

You can copy ships from the VAB to the SPH folder and launch from the runway instead.

If you want to be able to edit them in the SPH, open the .craft file and change the line near the top that ends VAB to SPH.
