Mechjeb2 install weirdness

Hello everyone new guy here

Just downloaded Kerbal last weekend so ver 1.2.0.1586,  Playing on windows 10 under steam

I have watched several people on youtube playing and i wanted to try out Mechjeb

so I have downloaded Mechjeb2-2.5.8.0   I unzipped it and placed the folder "Mechjeb2-2.5.8.0" into the 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Kerbal Space Program\GameData

note inside the Mechjeb2-2.5.8.0 folder is another folder mechjeb2 inside that are the icons/parts/plugins/license.

when i run the Kerbal i go to sandbox mode and build a craft and attach the mechjeb part to my capsule

when i go to launch there is no mechjeb button/toolbar,

I have read several answers to how to get it to work but not sure if i am doing something wrong.

has anyone got any help?

Thats the wrong folder. You must place the 'Mechjeb2'-folder in GameData, not ' Mechjeb2-2.5.8.0 '.

Note: MJ isnt't updatet for 1.2 yet but there's a dev-version.

Ok Cheesecake thanks for that put that in the correct way still see the mechjeb control unit

but still no menus or anything so i guess i will need to wait till it is updated.

please wait for a final 1.2 compatible version before wondering why it doesnt work.
