R and D available in Sandbox

I play almost entirely sandbox mode, but I like the whole idea of gathering and building an archive of science. Could we make the R and D lab open in Sandbox so I can see which experiments I have done?

To create your own "science sandbox" mode, you could also just start a science mode and unlock the whole tech tree by the cheat menu at first.

Given that the default behavior in sandbox is to not include all "upgrades" they probably need a way to turn them on now.

There is a way to turn on upgrades in Sandbox mode through the advanced settings. I think what we need is a way to tiggle them in game, so we can design career rockets aroind their limitations.

Yeah, I know that the button is there to turn it on---I think that the button should be on by default, and turned OFF through advanced settings.

What does that button do anyway? What are those "part upgrades"?

Nothing yet in stock, but it's a hook to allow things in the future (or mods right now) to have parts "upgrade" as new tech tree nodes are unlocked. For example, an engine could become lighter at advanced tech tree tiers (simplified, or made of new materials). Or batteries might hold more EC per size, whatever.
