Fairings lack hitbox

Recommended Posts

I discovered this when trying to build rotor bearing and the rotor just fell on the ground. Basicaly the fairings dont colide with ground, buildings or other spacecraft until the fairings themselfs are decoupled (staged), olny then they start to colide.

Separated fairing segments also seem to ignore gravity as (when staged on the ground) they endlessly spin and float up after bouncing of the ground.

I can confirm neither of these. I built a fairing at the bottom of a command pod, held up by i-beams, andreleased the fairing. It fell to the ground and sat there, on top of the ground, supported by the fairing edges.

I then reloaded and instead of decoupling, released the fairing itslef. The pieces all fell to the ground and lay there as you'd expect. They maybe didn't act like they would perfectly, and spun a bit, but they quickly settled down and lay flat.
