How to make RCS units that are switchable between Mono and LFO?

One of my favorite mods (OPT Space Plane Parts) allows you to fairly easily build single-stage-to-anywhere craft with ginormous amounts of delta-V, but mine tend to run out of Monopropellant rather quickly, so I figured why not make use of all that LFO for reaction control as well? I made some quick alternate parts that use the same models but are set up to use LFO instead of monopropellant, and they work fine, but what I really want is to set up the parts so I can switch between different modes during the construction phase to reduce the number parts to sort through. 

What's the easiest way to go about doing something like this? Are there any mods out there with something similar already that I can have a look at to figure out the workings?

You will probably need a plugin like the ones I have created for switching rcs modes. Mine does not target RCS (yet), as I had not considered the need. Might be nice to be able to do that. So I you are not considering making a plugin, I just might put it on my list.

Well for KSPI-E I also made a RCS capable of switching many different propellant, you might want to take a look how it is done.
